About Ba Na Hills

Nestled in the mountains near Danang City, this hill station offers a cool Retreat from the coastal heat, a Scenic ride on one of the longest cable cars in the world, and this iconic golden bridge.

Situated nearly 1,500 meters above sea level, Bà Nà Hills is a hill station originally established by French colonists more than a century ago. Today, it has transformed into a popular French-themed recreational complex that attracts both local and international visitors alike.

How to Get to Ba Na Hills

Bà Nà Hills is about a 45-minute drive from Da Nang and roughly 1 hour from Hoi An.

Private Car / Grab

There are several ways to get there. The most convenient option is booking a private car or taking a Grab — both are similarly priced, although Grab can be slightly more expensive during peak hours. The advantage of these options is flexibility, as there’s no fixed schedule.

Shuttle Bus

For a more budget-friendly alternative, you can take a shared shuttle bus. A round-trip ticket costs around 188,000 VND (approximately $8 USD). However, the shuttle operates on a fixed schedule, with hotel pickup at 8:30 AM and departure from Bà Nà Hills at 4:30 PM.

What we’ve Booked

For us, we booked a Private Car to Ba Na Hills via Klook App for VND 320K / USD 13.25 for one way from Hoi An Old Town.

Our Experience - Arrival & Entrance Tips

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by how organized everything was. There’s even a free luggage storage facility near the entrance—perfect if you’re traveling between cities. It’s open until 9pm, so be sure to collect your luggage before it closes.

We booked our tickets online (highly recommended) through Klook, which allowed us to skip the ticket counter and head straight to the entrance using a QR code. Online tickets are often cheaper and come in various combos, including buffet lunch options, which we’ve paid about VND 1,140K or USD $47 per person.

Luggage Room is available at the foothill.

Riding the World-Famous Cable Car at Ba Na Hills

One of the highlights of Ba Na Hills is its incredible cable car system. It holds multiple Guinness World Records, including one of the longest non-stop cable cars in the world, stretching over 5.7 km.

The 20-minute ride up the mountain offers stunning panoramic views, and you can literally feel the temperature drop as you ascend. It’s both scenic and relaxing—a perfect start to the adventure.

Exploring the Golden Bridge

The first major stop is the iconic Golden Bridge, held up by giant stone hands emerging from the mountainside.

Reality at the Golden Bridge LOL! It gets really crowded during noon and peak seasons

Gardens, Wine Cellar & Funicular Train

Beyond the bridge, Ba Na Hills features beautifully themed gardens, each with unique designs and stories. One highlight is the historic wine cellar built by the French in 1923.

We even sampled some wine inside—definitely a fun and immersive experience.

To get around, you can hop on the funicular train, which adds a bit of charm (and saves your legs).

The French Village

Next, we took another cable car up to the stunning French Village—a medieval European-inspired town complete with castles, cathedrals, and cobblestone streets.

It genuinely feels like stepping into a video game or fantasy world. Every corner looks like a postcard, and there’s always something happening—from live performances to street entertainment

Buffet Lunch Experience

Our ticket included a buffet lunch at a large restaurant in the village. The variety was impressive which includes a mix of Vietnamese and International cuisine.

We arrived early (around 11 AM), which helped us avoid the rush. Within minutes, the place filled up with tour groups.

Alpine Coaster

Another popular attraction is the Alpine Coaster, though queues can get long during peak hours. If you’re short on time, consider purchasing an express pass.

Other Parks & Activities

The size of Ba Na Hills is larger than we thought. We’ve come across the Eclipse Square with a replica of the French Louvre, beautiful architecture, and had a mug of beer at the Beer Plaza.

Fantasy Park

Underneath the French Village is Fantasy Park, one of Vietnam’s largest indoor entertainment zones. It’s great for families and includes Arcade games, 4D/5D experiences, and Dinosaur-themed zones. Some attractions require additional tickets.

Is Ba Na Hills Worth Visiting?

Absolutely. Ba Na Hills is more than just a theme park—it’s a full-day experience packed with culture, scenery, and entertainment.

From the surreal Golden Bridge to the enchanting French Village, there’s something for everyone. You could even stay overnight, as there are hotels on-site.

If you’re planning a trip to Da Nang, this destination deserves a spot on your itinerary.
