What We’ve Ordered
Pan Mee (Soup) – RM 7.00
A typical bowl of Pan Mee is served in anchovies broth, garnished with some fried crispy anchovies, minced pork, slices of mushrooms, and sweet leaf vegetables (in Bahasa Malaysia it is called sayur manis).
The traditional Pan Mee is one of the local staple dish that Malaysians eat it all the time, be it for breakfast, lunch or dinner (not to be confused with the Chilly Pan Mee!). This shop here serves awesome traditional pan mee, and what’s so special about their Pan Mee is that it comes in a long strip, whereas the typical Pan Mee noodles are short, squarish pieces.
If you like spicy food, do reach out for their condiments that’s ready available on the table. They have dried chili flakes and homemade sambal. (There’s also lime available if you like to add a zesty flavour to your noodles, which we didn’t as the original flavour is already really good. )
Pan Mee (Dry) – RM 7.00
There is also the dry version of Pan Mee, served with thick black soy sauce. This is definitely our favourite because the sweetness from the black sauce gives the dish a rich flavour to it. Simply delicious! (The dry Pan Mee also comes with a complimentary bowl of soup!)
The best part of this pan mee is that the noodles is very smooth and slightly chewy at the same time, not too flour-y, and it has a certain level of bounciness to the texture. The noodles are freshly handmade by themselves. We personally prefer Pan Mee that is hand torned instead of machine cut, as the texture outcome of the handmade noodles is different and tastier.
This is one of the best traditional pan mee we have ever tasted so far. Let us know what are your thoughts if you’ve tried out this place! If you have a great place or dish to recommend, please do leave a comment below, we would love to try it out as well!
